Nursing Care FAQs

Care homes and nursing homes can vary in the support they give, depending on the needs of their residents. At White House Care Home, we offer a variety of nursing services including helping with medication, taking care of wounds, assisting with regular activities, and supporting those with health conditions like physical and learning disabilities and Parkinson’s Disease. Our nursing team also works together with other health experts when necessary, to make sure that every resident gets the right care for them.

If you’re noticing the following signs, it might be worth considering a care home for you or a loved one:

  • Significant weight loss or changes in appetite
  • Increased confusion or forgetfulness
  • Struggling with everyday tasks like bathing, dressing, or grooming
  • Recent trips to the hospital due to falls or accidents
  • Chronic health conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or dementia getting worse
  • Difficulty with managing medications or sticking to treatment plans
  • Need for special medical care or equipment, such as oxygen therapy or wound care

Both care homes and nursing homes are capable of assessing care needs and offering suggestions for the most suitable care. When deciding on a care home, open discussions with your loved one about their care needs is vital.

White House Care Home places immense importance on its responsibility and duty of care. Our dedication to individuals’ safety is evident through our efforts, including maintaining optimal staffing levels, employing well-trained and qualified nursing staff, adhering to infection control and medication management protocols, and conducting frequent safety assessments. To further ensure resident security, we have security measures to prevent unauthorised access.

At White House Care Home, we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care types and are looking to move out. Our compassionate team are on hand around the clock to support you with your moving transition and answer any further questions you have.
