Lots to Celebrate this May
We have had a joyous month so far here at White House Care Home in Letchworth Garden City, celebrating our carehome.co.uk score of 9.9, re-launching our Community Café, and of course the coronation of King Charles III.
All the staff here are delighted with our recent carehome.co.uk score of 9.9, which ultimately recognises the hard work, high-quality care and support, and outstanding facilities that we have here at White House Care Home.
Carehome.co.uk is the leading UK care home review website that allows users to review their care home experience by posting comments and ratings to help other care service users and care seekers to find a care home that is right for them.
We would like to thank those in our community who have left us a review and rating, and we are committed to continuing to provide care and support at this high standard.
We are delighted to be re-launching our Community Café this month too, but this time with a twist! We have invited members from different Letchworth Garden City services to visit each fortnight, to offer the chance for local people and our residents to discuss community issues over a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake.
We are starting with a visit from the Neighbourhood Watch Specials and Community Support Officers, and we are very excited for the upcoming opportunities that the Community Café will bring to those in our home.
Playing an active part in our community is something that is very much a priority for us at White House Care Home, as we want our residents to integrate well and feel comfortable going out into the community and getting involved with life in Letchworth Garden City.
Outings in the community have great benefits for our residents, including opportunities to socialise and feel a part of something much bigger. Our residents recently joined the local community in witnessing the new tenor bell arriving at St Mary's Church in Hitchin, and it was a great afternoon out for all who attended.
One of the highlights of this month has been our King's Coronation celebrations. It was a very patriotic time for our residents who gathered around to watch the live ceremony. We put up union jack bunting around the home to help get our residents into the celebratory spirit.
Following that, we welcomed Malcolm, our resident's favourite entertainer, to provide us with some themed entertainment, and our residents sat back with a Pimms fruit punch and delicious themed cupcake to kick start a weekend of merriment.
To finish, the day's celebrations, our wonderful kitchen team put on a full buffet lunch that was fit for a King. We very much enjoyed celebrating this special moment in history with one another and it was great for our residents to are this time together as well as reminisce over their own experiences and memories of the Royal Family.
All of the activities provided within our care home are designed to allow our residents to maintain their hobbies, pursue new interests and lead both an active and social lifestyle.
Our activities programme also places great focus on us maintaining great relationships with our local community and our outings support our residents in being a part of Letchworth Garden City and seeing all the changes that are being made.
