A January Full of Celebrations!

our resident on their 100th birthday

January has been a month full of laughter, celebration, and memorable moments here at White House Care Home. From a remarkable 100th birthday party to an exciting visit from some unusual animal friends, our residents have enjoyed a fantastic start to 2025 with a variety of activities.

Joyce’s 100th Birthday Celebration

One of the highlights of the month was celebrating Joyce’s 100th birthday. It was a truly special occasion, made even more wonderful by the presence of Joyce’s entire family, who joined us to mark this incredible milestone. The home was beautifully decorated, and everyone enjoyed a delicious cake, joyful singing, and the excitement of Joyce receiving her special card from the King and Queen. Our team organised for her favourite singer to perform, making the day even more personal and memorable.

The celebration was not only a chance to honour Joyce but also a lovely opportunity for all our residents to come together, share in the joy, and reminisce about their own dreams for their 100th birthdays. Suggestions ranged from skydiving to tea at Buckingham Palace – and even cocktails on a tropical beach!

A Visit from Geoff’s Creepy Crawlies

Bringing animals into our home has always been a favourite among residents, and this month, we were delighted to welcome Geoff and his fascinating collection of creatures. From furry friends to scaly surprises, residents had the chance to get up close, ask questions, and even hold some of the animals.

For those who prefer to spend more time in their luxury bedrooms, Geoff made sure to visit them individually, ensuring everyone had the chance to take part. Animals have a wonderful way of lifting spirits, easing feelings of loneliness, and creating moments of connection – and this visit was no exception.

Celebrating Chinese New Year

January also saw us ringing in the Chinese New Year in style. Our dining room was decorated with traditional Chinese decorations, and residents enjoyed a delicious feast of authentic Chinese dishes, complete with fortune cookies. We also spent time learning about the traditions and customs associated with the New Year, making it both a fun and educational experience for everyone.

It has been a truly wonderful start to the year, and we are looking forward to many more special moments in the months ahead.
